bianca's pause tapes

i'm trying to make 100 pause tapes, using the radio shack trs-80 computer cassette recorder that park picked up for me. the text comes from some royal family trading cards i found in a junk store. i don't like using bandcamp for hosting sounds but shrug for now:

1. "she's a nice girl who loves nature, in spite of what it did to her"

2. "your years of royal toil may pay off and you could be the first divorced crowned head since henry viii"

3. "as the prince prepares for carefree bachelor life, he has purchased a portable telephone"

4. this one didn't work out. i recorded on a cassette that claimed to have "brilliant sound quality" but that wasn't true. i can play it for you if you're curious

5. "royal marriage means duties, which most royals attend to as drudgery, smiles frozen on regal pusses (this one i used a casio vl-tone and hikari monos for sounds and some pedals for effects)"

6. spent hours on this one but it is unlistenable due to constant loud siren sound and also has underwater muffled sound. could have been from my telex headphone splitter, cheap cassettes from kmart, weird audio cables, cassette recorder malfunction. was okay in testing. it's too bad bc i was really feeling this one. suffering from exhaustion and almost fell asleep while recording. i can play it for you if you're curious

7. "the entire population appears to have fled / fear and fatigue must be written on my face"

8. "there's no better remedy for a stomach that's heaving with disgust than taking great strides to forge a path through the nighttime air"

9. "video of blue jays eating wasps that made a nest in an abandoned car in the woods"

10. "i just thought she was missing the tip of her middle finger but it was just a weird angle"

11. "a sudden job offer may find you thinking about career opportunities at the castle"

12. "stepping lightly from point to point"

13. "thank you much for your card right after your vacation trip - thoughtful of you"

14. "i should have gone to broken bow, a fascinating town, fascinating people on the street"

15. "diane's bare-handed benefits"
